Cut Off All U.S. Assistance Immediately
Ukraine under Zelensky deserves zero American taxpayer support
There are no good reasons for hardworking American taxpayers to shore up the current regime in Kyiv. None.
Ukraine’s president reminds us of someone who is looking out through a closed window and cannot explain to himself the strange movements of passers-by. He cannot tell what sort of storm is raging out there or that these people might only be managing with difficulty to stay on their feet.
Ordinary Ukainians won’t keel over if U.S. assistance dries up, but Volodymyr Zelensky might.
It would be disingenuous to claim that Zelensky's universal magnetism is down to "vibe" alone. But it's difficult to remember the last time we witnessed a vibe so giganticly stupid.
Business in Ukraine does not trust the nation’s courts.
The Prosecutor General’s Office is a joke.
No one takes Ukraine’s SBU State Security Office seriously.
The State Bureau of Investigations is a mess.
Ukraine’s State Tax and Customs Services are being reorganized.
The Health Ministry is totally corrupt.
Last week, Zelensky made it clear that he supports Donald Trump in the 2020 U.S. presidential election. Ukraine experts who do not recognize this fact should find other work.
“Yes, I heard about the [scandal] involving Poroshenko and Biden. I will comment about this. I don't think this is the last case Ukrainians, citizens of Ukraine, will hear about (це не останній дзвінок,який побачать українці). It's the job of Prosecutor General's Office and law-enforcement agencies to respond. I know that the Prosecutor General's Office yesterday registered a pretrial investigation on possible treason pursuant to the appeal by member of parliament Andriy Derkach. They will investigate. I know that [what Poroshenko said] may be qualified in the criminal proceeding as state treason. This is up to law-enforcement agencies to decide.” Zelensky said on May 20 during a press conference in Kyiv.
The Pechersky Court of Kyiv the same day ordered the Prosecutor General's Office to enter into the Unified Register of Pretrial Investigations information in a related case involving the possible interference of Biden in the activities of former Prosecutor General of Ukraine Viktor Shokin.
Poroshenko’s lawyers responded that evening.
On May 27, Poroshenko was summoned to the SBI at 12.00 on May 29, 2020 for questioning as a witness in criminal proceeding No. 62020000000000456 "the fact of the possible illegal use of special technical means of obtaining information that could cause substantial harm to state interests."
Last year, Zelensky inspired a cult-like following, but he failed to working on his own problems, which are manifold, starting with his disregard for dialectical discourse.
Evolving real ideas is not passé. Reality must be expressed in rational categories, or it is irrelevant. The exchange of ideas could have actually benefited Ukrainians during the election campaign and during the months preceding Ukraine’s COVID-19 disaster.
Zelensky has led a 12-month blitz to muddle perceptions and previously accepted facts, starting with Russia’s invasion of Ukraine six years ago and now involving attempts by the previous U.S. administration in 2015 and 2016 to prevent his country from being wiped off the map.
Under this president, Ukraine does not deserve any U.S. foreign assistance.
