Recession is worth it, if prices are stable. I’m not a big fan of Javier and know practically nothing about Argentina, although I’ve read about incredible scenes of esoteric power there.
Dictators in South America during the 20th centry were fond of conducting military purges to consolidate power and eliminate potential threats, just like today in Ukraine.
[…] Ukrainian law enforcement agencies have performed very well: the Security Service of Ukraine, the State Bureau of Investigation, the National Police, our Prosecutor's Office. Traitors and various schemes that weakened our state and our Ukrainian society are being countered. Anyone who stands against Ukraine or defies the laws of Ukraine must remember, that they will face a response. We are also preparing a new decision on the sanctions of the National Security and Defense Council – a decree will be issued tomorrow.
Glory to Ukraine! - Z (January 18, 2025)
In other words, Ukraine’s supreme commander-in-chief and his potent managers have apparently decided to eat their own children …at the same time as public trust in them evaporates.
Brilliant. I’m sure Javier and his sister approve.

There is no Unified Code of Military Justice in Ukraine and the country’s civilian law-enforcement agencies are a joke. It’s selective — politically motivated — justice all the way down, almost guaranteed to backfire spectacularly.
I listened to Stanislav’s 42-minute interview in which he talks about the plight of the country’s military, espec infantrymen.
I recommend translating what Stanislav says into English professionally. Next force foreign military experts/analysts to read the transcript. Twice, maybe three times.
And then give them a quiz:
What’s wrong with Ukraine’s military?
Why can’t Ukraine’s military stop Russian advances in eastern Ukraine?
What steps should be taken immediately to improve civilian-military management of the the Armed Forces of Ukraine?
Madyar posts this long video report of drone warfare.
Donald tweeted something at Vova yesterday, threatening to tickle him with tarriffs if Russia doesn’t agree to stop invading.
In his Truth Social post on Wednesday, he said: "I'm going to do Russia, whose Economy is failing, and President Putin, a very big FAVOR," he wrote.
"Settle now, and STOP this ridiculous War! IT'S ONLY GOING TO GET WORSE. If we don't make a 'deal', and soon, I have no other choice but to put high levels of Taxes, Tariffs, and Sanctions on anything being sold by Russia to the United States, and various other participating countries. […] Let's get this war, which never would have started if I were President, over with! We can do it the easy way, or the hard way - and the easy way is always better. It's time to "MAKE A DEAL.”
Truth Social isn’t available in Ukraine, so I can’t insert the link.
On the Team USA jacket, US senators are set to vote on Pete’s nomination to become US Defense Secretary this week.
Axios says some Republicans are privately concerned that Sen (R-ME) Collins, along with Sens. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) will ultimately vote against the hypermasculine nominee, but that he can still get confirmed with three GOP "no" votes, as Vice President Vance is available to break a potential 50-50 deadlock.
There are contingency plans.
