Battleground buffoonery. I just watched CNN’s Ben Wederman almost commit suicide on the outskirts of Mykolaiv.
The terrified expression on the face of the girl in the back seat should boost Jake’s ratings (The Lead). I immediately thought of Ed Barnes and how he would have prevented this reckless stupidity.
Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of Russia’s Security Council, goes full fascist today on Telegram.
[…] Ukrainian nationalism [Ukrainianism], which is fueled by anti-Russia poison and all-consuming lies about its identity, is one big fake. The phenomenon never happened in history. And now it does not exist. The most important goal in the name of peace for future generations of Ukrainians themselves is to remove bloody and false myths from the consciousness of some Ukrainians. Oh, just noticed a toolbar w/ new buttons:
Sure enough, Iuliia is back with another dispatch from her chocolate shop in Lviv. Shaken from the horror of frontline Kyiv, our battle-weary contributor, doing her usual shabby Barbara Amiel impersonation, refers to Bucha as “an affordable option for those looking to stay close to the capital.”
Ukraine’s top cop Iryna tells us Borodyanka tops Bucha in terms of unspeakable misery, murder and death. Cf. Day 9, Phase 1. Looks like John has caught up w/ the massacres, as has Ze.
My attention turns to Russia’s Truth Ministry and the manifest appearing on April 4, 2022 in its flagship RIA Novosti, titled What Russia Should Do With Ukraine.
“The Nazis who took up arms should be destroyed to the maximum on the battlefield. There should be no significant differences between the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the so-called national battalions, as well as the territorial defense that joined these two types of military formations. All of them are equally involved in extreme cruelty against the civilian population, equally guilty of the genocide of the Russian people and do not comply with the laws and customs of war. War criminals and active Nazis should be exemplarily and demonstratively punished. There must be a total lustration. Any organizations that have associated themselves with the practice of Nazism have been liquidated and banned. However, in addition to the top leaders, a significant part of the masses, composed of passive Nazis, are accomplices of Nazism and also guilty. They supported and indulged Nazi power. The just punishment of this part of the population is possible only as bearing the inevitable hardships of a just war against the Nazi system.”
But obvi the question we should be asking is “What should we do with Russia?”
