Steven Witkoff, Donald’s special envoy for the Middle East and Russia, does not know a lot about my part of the world. He is not a student of its history, culture or language. His self-serving interview with Tucker only makes the black hole of Ukraine-related bullshit even deeper.
Priggish at first, Steven picks up slow speed before galloping to wildly moronic statements, which resonate over wifi through my JBL headset into my ears. My head explodes.

About 55’ in, the conversation turns to Russia and Ukraine.
Putin has huge respect for President Donald Trump. And you saw what happened in the Oval Office between Z and the president. Disrepecting him is not a healthy way to have a good relationship. … [Ukraine] is dependent on us, and we have been so good to them. — Steven
Who, exactly, is we?
Steven says achieving “an ultimate ceasefire” is complicated.
First, there is Kursk, where Ukrainian troops are surrounded. Fact. Kursk is within Russia. The Russians have taken it back. And they have people trapped there and the president (Donald) doesn’t want to see everyone getting killed. — Steven
Actually, no. Intelligence shared with the White House shows Ukrainian forces were not encircled. (Steven adds, “A lot of these newspaper stories about Ukraine are agenda-driven.”)
The “largest issue in the conflict are these so-called four regions, Donbas, Crimea… uh… Luhansk… uh… and there are two others…,” according to Steven.
They are Russian-speaking. There have been referendums [held there] and the overwhelming majority of residents have indicated that they want to be under Russian rule… I think this is the key issue in the conflict. — Steven
Actually, no.
There have been no acts of self-determination in any part of Ukraine (including Crimea) calling into question Ukraine’s sovereignty over its territory. Zero. If Steven wants to substitute Moscow’s judgement of the situation, then he must explain why. Otherwise, he is just another Kremlin stooge (like Tucker).
