Reading this through Grice's framework, the moral becomes quite clear:

Franklin's opening paragraph systematically violates Grice's maxims while maintaining the surface appearance of cooperative communication. He violates quantity by omitting crucial context (that journalists like himself created Zelensky's "mythic reputation"). He violates quality by presenting a misleading narrative unsupported by the fuller evidence. He violates relation by burying the key point about Trump's pressure and the mineral deal. And he violates manner through selective presentation that obscures rather than clarifies.
