The Treaty of Brest-Litovsk delivered Ukraine its first taste of 20th century great power "independence": Lenin agreed to stop fighting, the Germans moved in as liberators, then came rapid collapse and civil war chaos. Now we're watching the sequel, with Ukraine once more caught between great powers deciding its fate without meaningful Ukrainian input.

Donald's recent press conference announcing his Anchorage summit was a masterclass in amplifying Russian propaganda—all while insisting he's the toughest negotiator Vova has ever faced. Meanwhile, Z's latest pep talks sound like whistling past the graveyard: "No decisions will be made on Ukraine without Ukraine." The real question is whether Ukraine gets a voice in the negotiations or just gets to rubber-stamp whatever these two hash out in Anchorage.
