Eye socket repair

Let’s start with the good news. Surgery to prepare the socket for Ivan’s artificial eye went well.

He showed me the mock up for the op a week ago, the stuff that has to be reconfigured for the implant placed in the eye socket. The prosthetic eye sitting on top of that integrates with the eye muscles, allowing synchronized movement. A magic little magnetic pillow is used.

Next up: jaw reconfiguration and removal of an intramedullary rod.
