Putin has put Trump in a very difficult position. All those drones — some launched from Belarus — flying into Poland. If this is not a deliberate provocation by Putin aimed at humiliating NATO, then it is a spectacular fiasco engineered by the recently decorated Chief of Russia's General Staff Valery Gerasimov. You decide which is more annoying.
Occam's Razor suggests the simpler explanation: this wasn't grand strategy but the predictable consequence of launching hundreds of missiles and drones in the general direction of targets near NATO's border.
