On the Ukraine jacket, we left off yesterday writing about the situation in Kupyansk, Kharkiv region (pre-war population: 26,000).

Civilians can’t leave even at night because fighting is raging in the city. The Ukrainian Armed Forces can’t distinguish civilians from soldiers—they’re shooting at every car. There’s no way to leave. Buildings 55, 57, 49, and 30 have burned down. Residential buildings are on fire. There are numerous drones, and there’s almost no communication. There are many corpses scattered throughout the city. There’s no way to bury the dead—kamikaze FPVs are all over the place. Ukrainian forces entered the sugar refinery and, after retreating, began shooting at civilians. Basements are being mined, as are the basements of houses and apartment buildings… — obvi pro-Russia Telegram account.
