There’s a superabundance of documentary material on every aspect of what has brought Russia to “point zero” of its history. The neo-totalitarian mess managed by the insanely suspicious man in Moscow is deadly, much more dangerous than dictatorship or tyranny. Тotal domination is the only form of government with which co-existence is not possible - maybe not yet for the Germans and the French, but certainly for Ukrainians. That’s why there are only two possible outcomes of the ongoing war: Either Ukraine wins, or Russia loses.

What happened? Why did it happen? How could it have happened?
Russian Orthodox fundamentalism + Stalinism + elements of Satanism + bits of mysticism = cockroaches in Putin’s head. The president’s childhood billionaire chum and confidant Yuri Kovalchuk, reportedly, suffers the same ailment.
Both men believe priority #1 is restoring Russia’s domination over Ukraine.
For eight years, U.S. and European diplomats have been dreaming up and proposing diplomatic “off ramps” in the hopes of placating the loony Kremlin leader and avoiding military confrontation. Obviously, they failed.
