I was reminded of St. Patrick’s Day minutes before falling to sleep. That’s a good sign, because I’m not a fan. The holiday got me wondering this morning how best to renew my passport from fortress Kyiv.
I suspect the process will be tedious.
Yesterday, Commander-in-Chief of Ukraine’s Armed Forces Valeriy Zaluzhny said on Facebook that AFU artillery strikes had turned command units of the Russia’s 35th Combined Arms Army near Kyiv into fine mulch. He posted drone images and video (soundtrack: AC/DC’s Highway to Hell) showing the shells blowing orc vehicles into little bits. Mark Solonin, who lives near the capital, welcomed the news on his YouTube channel.
Stephanie and I might be the only Irish citizens who remain in Ukraine’s capital. We’re thinking of creating an anti-orc-invasion defense unit. Our specialty: explosive rope. I want to name it after a female Irish rapper band, but there are none. Ireland has plenty of women R&B singers, but when it comes to rap, the scene is a boys’ club.
