Day 485
For the small price of UAH 300 million ($6 or $7 million, depending on how you convert), cobblestones on Bohdan Khmelnytsky St. in downtown Kyiv are being picked up, checked for imperfections, re-positioned, and plunked back down again, blocking traffic in the center of the city. Drivers say the work is needed, because the road is very bumpy. So far, the work stops at the Taras Shevchenko National Opera and Ballet Theatre near Tootsie Club opposite the German Embassy.
In other news, I watched Prigozhin’s 30-minute rant posted to Telegram. This from Reuters and this from the Associated Press do not do it justice.
And, finally, this from Handelsblatt, er, maybe.
The cover, which reads “This is not a counteroffensive - this is a bloody crash test," is fake.
