Update: Walk to work was exhilarating. A little nippy w/ bright blue skies. Lots of kids in camouflage fatigues wearing body armor and carrying bazookas. Not many people out and about.
Only two hours before curfew ends at 08:00. Then the walk to work. Just heard some gunshots down the street. Probably the guys letting off steam. At least I’ll be more accredited than anyone who tries to shoot me.
I’ve decided to put myself on a news-about-what’s-going-on diet until the end of hostilities. Maybe I’ll wear dog tags.
"Another All-Time Media Faceplant” American anti-Ukraine propaganda that reads like an ad for the Dynamic Tension body building program from Charles Atlas (World's Most Perfectly Developed Man). Except it’s a link to Matt’s substack. Remember Matt from Moscow? Of course, we do.
Which reminds me of Fred and friends and their loopy counterfactual from December 2021.
I stopped reading after the first key assessment:
1. Putin is and remains a rational actor who is not less well-grounded in reality than most world leaders. ...He will not intentionally take actions likely to risk the survival of the Russian state or his own rule, although... No “bounded rationality” is necessary to explain Putin’s decisions or actions.
It was the “bounded rationality” bullshit that sent me down a rabbit hole. It is cited from another 60-page unsearchable ISW pdf, titled “Confronting the Russian challenge: A new approach for the US.”
Conclusion: Fred is the reason why Toria always looks tired.
