Metaphors about Ukraine as frosting to tart up attempts to make ending a genocide politically correct. Stop working on them.
Ew!
Turns out Russia yesterday sent 43 cruise missiles, including five (5) targetting Kyiv and environs. These were all shot down. Damage from falling debris ignited areas of Darnitsky and Sviatoshynsky districts of the capital.
The graphic below shows the flight path of the missiles
Air defense systems shot down three dozen. The remaining seven did damage in Cherkasy and Rivne regions, where a hotel and gas station were destroyed, respectively, along with power-generation infrastructure in other parts of the country. Dozens of people were injured and power outages were reported.
About twenty minutes before the Ukraine’s air defense forces finished their post-attack reconaissance check, around 0615, I went for a run.
The next full moon falls on September 29. Venus is still the brightest light in the sky.
I understand that some people believe in God, but I don't understand how they manage to do that. In Poland, like anywhere else, that faith is the belief in the supernatural without any good reason. Catholic nationalists have run amok there since Jarosław’s Kaczyński’s twin brother Lech and top military officials were atomized in a plane crash near Smolensk in early 2010.
Polish President Andrzej Duda, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and Deputy Prime Minister Jarosław Kaczyński are seeking to maintain their majority in the legislature (Sejm and Senate). Elections are October 15. We hope they lose.
Meanwhile, Law and Justice leaders have threatened to cut off military assistance to Ukraine, unless Z caves into demands favoring ultra-conservative farmers, who have banded together in what looks like Poland’s verson of America’s Freedom Caucus.
I could say lots of nasty things about Polish political leaders, but I won’t, because it’s Friday, the sun is shining and I’m in a good mood.
We’ll end today’s post with a third annotation to Bruce’s 36-point Incomplete Manifesto for Growth.
Everyone is a leader. Growth happens. Whenever it does, allow it to emerge. Learn to follow when it makes sense. Let anyone lead. (#10, AIMFG)
Annotation: Boilerplate boosterism, present in every office everywhere. No bad ideas. My door is always open. There is no I in team.
I find that faith in God is like love. You can feel it but it’s impossible to explain to someone who has never loved or faith to one who doesn’t believe in God. Hopefully this isn’t gobbledygook.
We all go through life the best way we can. You’re a complicated person but most important you are a good man.
looking on the bright side, we are both irish and therefore can dispense with religiosity in general :-)
