The latest attack did not take many people by surprise. The response to it did. Evacuation of civilians is underway. Already almost 6,000 residents have been relocated. The invaders have been broken up into small groups and are attempting to complicate efforts to kill them.
Officials have been telling us for months that May and June would be hot in areas adjacent to the contact line, especially in Ukraine’s northerns Kharkiv and Sumy regions. Building defensive fortifications along the Russia-Ukraine border has not been a priority, for a variety of (good) military reasons, although many Ukrainians are upset the interlopers weren’t destroyed as soon as they crossed the border.

The Telegram channel Tracker tells us:

The total number of aircraft at the air base as of 12.05 was 19:

According to estimates, up to six Tu-95Ms aircraft are ready for use:

And MiG-31s with Kinzhal (Dagger) missiles are taking off and landing today with some frequency today, triggering air alerts throughout the entire country.
