While media are counting square kilometers captured by Ukraine in the Kursk operation, this year’s military campaign is being decided near Pokrovsk and Toretsk, small cities in eastern Ukraine where Ukraine’s Armed Forces are holding the line, kind of, maybe, we hope.
The pink blob continues to expand.
What will happen if invaders continue to advance is more or less clear. Ukraine will lose most of Donbas, will be forced to withdraw from Kursk and, most likely, agree to a difficult ceasefire. Looking on the bright side, expectations of Russia’s inevitable success are probably misplaced.
In hot weather you can only get so naked before there is nothing else to take off, and you're still stuck sweating wearing a heavy vest and helmet.
Yesterday, Z told Ukraine’s diplomats that success or failure depends on only one decision.
You must realize, both here and in the capitals where you work, that Ukraine is separated from stopping the advance of the Russian army at the front by only one decision, which we expect from our partners. And this is a decision on long-range capabilities.
Actually, no. The outcome does not only depend on the self-deterence of Ukraine’s partners. It’s best to presume on ourselves, stay well-hydrated and address the task of building better defensive fortifications proactively. On no account should we brood over western incrementalism.
If they [Ukraine’s partners] had told a few months ago that we were planning such an operation [in Kursk region], many people in the world would have said that it was unrealistic and that it was the crossing of supposedly the reddest of all the red lines Russia has. That is why, in fact, no one has ever heard of our preparations. And now the real success of our fighters speaks for itself – our active defense actions on the other side of the border and Putin's inability to keep his territory safe from such our defense actions are very eloquent.
Meh.
We are now witnessing a significant ideological shift, namely, the whole naive, illusory concept of so-called red lines regarding Russia, which dominated the assessment of the war by some partners, has crumbled these days somewhere near Sudzha. When our Ukrainian defenders of life act just like this, strongly, bravely and when an operation is really well-prepared, Putin has no options left.
Someone should sit down with Z.
Third flat tire this summer.
Unfortunately, you have to fight the war with what you have, not with what you wish you have.
hi, vaughan. exactly. i added some more from z's pep talk, which irritated me tremendously. saying the outcome of our little war depends on our partners over and over again does not help.
