We can see with our own eyes in the clips below that, in fact, Lukashenko did not stage a comeback, regain momentum or maintain his composure this week.
The last dictator in Europe spent most of Sunday at Independence Palace monitoring nationwide protests against his misrule. At around 18.00, he and his 15-year old son Kolya hightailed it to their Ostroshitskii Gorodok residence, changed into SWAT gear, grabbed guns and flew by helicopter back to the palace.
By the time Lukashenko and his son arrived, the demonstration against him had ended and the protesters were on their way home.
