Ukraine’s (now former) Deputy Interior Minister Oleksandr Hohilashvili had championed the fight against decriminalizing pot since at least 2019. Today he is in a lot of trouble, and so is Ukraine’s moron president Vladimir Zelensky.
Stories about cannabis in Ukraine are like catnip, so it was only matter of time before someone with an aura of credibility decided to capitalize on the growing consensus in favor of legalization with an extreme contrarian perspective. Who could better for trolling the legalizers than the husband of the body woman and personal aide to the president?
Hohilashvili’s job at Ukraine’s vertically integrated law-enforcement agency was to shape state policy to combat drug addiction and drug crime. He was filmed last week in eastern Ukraine throwing a temper tantrum after police stopped his caravan near a checkpoint in eastern Ukraine. A second clip showing him berating traffic police in Kyiv was published days later.
Oleksandr is reportedly a Russian citizen from Rostov with a criminal record. But that’s another story.
