A premium lamb-lard-wrapped-in-whatever roll costs UAH 95 (almost $4). The Мясо & Lavasch stands have popped up everywhere in Kyiv. Unhealthy fare.
Donor House, near Bessarabsky Market down the street charges more (UAH 100) for their *extra* lamb burger. Pot-smoking paraphernalia is on the house across the street at Bro Spot, which specializes in Ramen noodles and Ukraine-style fake Chipolte.
Yummdogs is a couple of blocks away. They offer dubious-looking pigs in a blanket decorated with vegetables leaves and colorful sauces. Very expensive shots of Tullamore Dew are also on sale. (Tullamore is the second best selling brand of Irish whiskey globally. The Irish refuse to drink it).
Traditional Ukrainian perepichki can be purchased at 3 Bohdan Khmelnytskoho. Perepichki are the equivalent of an American hot dog wrapped in dough and boiled in vegetable fat. An Instagram page has been created to boost sales.
Only UAH 20 for 150 grams of whatever!
My advice is to not eat any of this crap. Stick with WinWay’s dried Papaya sticks and wholewheat crackers. You will live longer.
