A bit otherwordly this morning. Ballistic and cruise missiles. Kyiv, Vasylkiv and Shostka (Sumy region). As of this writing, at least one Mig-31 remains airborne.
In keeping with the sluggishness of 3G in Kyiv, a strange December 31 ish edition of Axios just slowly spread across my screen, with a photo of Uncle Joe glad-handing Z at the NATO beano this July1.
It reminded me of yesterday’s similarly brisk little piece by Caitlin Doornbos, esteemed Washington correspondent for the New York Post, that gawping, yappy butthole of a newspaper owned since 1993 by Rupert Murdoch, whose delusions of intellectual rigor and public bumbling provide reliable ongoing amusement2.

The move from the old apartment ended yesterday, kind of. Last night I hung curtains, assembled partially the bed and a table. Missing one essential barrel nut! We’ll save the bookcase for this evening and uncork a bottle of Kindzmarauli to celebrate the end of 2024.
By February, at least, unpacking will be over.
Happy New Year!
Make something beautiful in 2025!
