Day 466
I have more to say about contemporary ethnonationalism, but it’s probably better if I whisper it to myself in Gaeilge.
The New York Times and The Washington Post run front page stories about cross-border raids in Belgorod oblast12. The latter investigates whether weapons gifted to Ukraine were used. (Of course they were). Val and Anatoly for the NYT rely on three stringers for an account of fighting there. I stopped reading after the sentence starting, “It was a sign of spontaneous social organization….”
This made me laugh, too:
And, of course, Emma’s chit chat with Z here. James was there, but not on camera.
In other news, Chien-Chi Chang has hotfooted his way back to Ukraine.
Remember Chien-Chi3?
He’s the PHILIP JONES GRIFFITHS AWARD WNNER for 2022.
