How to get someone out of a cult
We left off yesterday1 thinking about parts of the causal model that explains why Team USA can’t get its collective act together and do more to prevent Russia from continuing to commit genocidal acts in Ukraine.
This morning I stumbled on this:
I am not a big fan of Hilary, but agree with her about the necessity of cutting off “this little tail of extremism wagging the dog” in the US House of Representatives. She is referring members of the MAGA cult “chasing the dragon of the chaos drug they love so much” that we talked about on Day 5882.
One of the most popular comments about the clip:
“It would be It would be amazing if Americans had an education on critical thinking, recognizing propaganda, recognizing demagogues, recognizing con artist tactics, and understanding the Constitution.”
Unfortunately, it appears they do not, which explains why Team USA has not been moved by convincing arguments to do more, faster, to help keep us alive.
“At some point, there needs to be a formal deprogramming of the cult members,” Clinton said, referring to GOP lawmakers who continue to insist Trump did not attempt to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.
We can lump X idiotarians who think Elon is cool into the same group of people who need therapy. Looking on the bright side, X isn’t just worth less than Musk paid for it, but likely less than its debt, according to Reuters.
