The big news this morning is Russia’s missile attack on downtown Chernihiv, about a 3.5-hour (fast) bicycle ride north of Kyiv.
As of this writing, at least 17 people are dead and dozens are wounded.
In other news, Ukraine Economic Outlook, via Interfax-Ukraine, published an interesting column about Ukraine’s $2.5 billion black hole. We talked a little bit about a related issue, miscoding, on Day 7721. That post received a zillion views, because the author of a petition, Pavlo Petrychenko, who called on Z to fix Ukraine’s online gambling problem, was killed days later in combat.
In completely unrelated news, Speaker Mike is still figuring out the Rule for bringing four supplemental assistance requests (Israel, Ukraine, Taiwan) to the floor of the House for a vote.
Mike sat on the legislation for six months before acting yesterday.
