Fixed the flat tire, Bad Boy is back on the road.
Tens of thousands of Pokrovsk and Toretsk residents are being urgently evacuated because Ukraine’s army has not been able to stop the rapid advance of Russian invaders.
The lack of fall-back defensive fortifications is the main reason. Building them was the personal responsibility of Pavlo Kyrylenko, whom Z appointed to head the Donetsk regional military-civilian administration (2020-2023)1. Pavlo is currently the chairman of Ukraine’s Antimonopoly Committee.
On Aug. 14, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau charged Kyrylenko with illicit enrichment of over UAH 56 million ($1.4 million). Ukraine’s High Anti-Corruption Court, however, has postponed ruling on his pre-trial confinement (bail or pre-trial confinement pending trial).
Construction of second- and third-line defensive fortifications is the responsibility of local authorities and the government, not the military.
Today Kyrylenko is a wealthy man. During the last three years he has acquired 21 real estate properties and a luxury car, registering the assets under his wife's relatives. The difference between the value of the assets and the available funds belonging to him and his wife amounted to UAH 56.2 million. Pavlo’s brother is a special services officer in the so-called “Donetsk People’s Republic,” a puppet regime created by Moscow in 2014.
I just finished reading the Operation Atlantic Resolve quarterly report on US assistance to Ukraine issued by the Pentagon’s inspector general. It says Ukraine and Russia are headed toward stalemate, what former Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief Valery Zaluzhny said nine months ago. TLDB
