Unfortunately, many of those affected own automobiles and are aggressive drivers. Some resent bicyclists in principle and run over pedestrians at crosswalks for the heck of it. These drivers always think they have the right of way, even when it’s very early in the morning and traffic is light.
I stopped counting years ago how many times cars and trucks have almost maimed or killed me. The closest call with permanent debilitating injury or death came when a truck clipped my left handlebar on the road to Hoholiv, a former Cossack town.

I’m thinking of getting a Coros Vertix 2, which has huge battery life of 240 hours and is super durable with on-screen navigation and a reinforced bezel and screen to protect the watch from any knocks or scrapes after a car runs over you.
