before february 2022, i was more candid, in writing, at least. but it's pointless to criticize z now publicly because of our DO NO HARM policy, esp since we're stuck with him as pres until the end of the war. dialectical discourse under z is dead. there is no difference between parrhesia and isegoria in ukraine, since reality is no longer expressed in rational categories. under z, ukraine remains sham democracy, a primitive post-soviet feudal autocracy that is not underpinned by elections or coordinated work of institutions, but by popular uprisings. absent them, even the illusion of tolerance would not exist. putin ruined our experiment in building a liberal democracy
Forgive me if I am being obtuse, but isn't there more important things going on, like an existential struggle against a genocidal army on your lands? Don't you think dialectical discourse can wait?
hi, vaughan. the existential struggle against a genocidal army is in its 11th year. belaboring that reality every day in words is too taxing. that's why i run a lot and go to raves. i l also isten to z and his pep talks, check in w/ deepstate map to monitor our nine fronts and check up on my friends in military. other interests include my cat, balusha, coding and riding my canondale bad boy all over the place. for a while, i was posting a poem of the day, or a video of the day. the only way to make things better – short of razing moscow and salting the earth that nothing may grow there again – is to dwell on the positive and know that david sanger gained a ton of weight since he wrote about ukraine supporting north korea's nuclear missile program (https://tinyurl.com/49axkjja) the balusha post is here: https://tinyurl.com/43px5yrr
You are living in an historic period for your country. If you survive it, kids, maybe yours, will be asking you "What did you do in the war? What was it like?" You'll be in the position of telling them it was quite ordinary in some ways and cataclysmic in others. Maybe. I don't know as I am not Ukrainian and I'm not there, like millions of people like me that support Ukraine. However, we do think about Ukraine everyday and we do donate (hopefully). I donate to United24 and 1Team1Fight monthly. I have wondered what are the most useful donations to make but I suppose all donations are equally helpful in one way. However, donating directly to drones is more satisfying for me. I offered a suggestion to Wild Hornets to sell drones to donors, so the donor knows exactly where the money has gone. Then the donor gets the drone footage from that drone's activity. That would motivate me to donate, hopefully other people as well, but it is a fair bit of work to be sending drone footage to thousands of individual donors, probably unfeasible. Hang in there. Keep dodging the missiles and posting.
hi, vaughan. thank for the encouragement! i think i will taper off, tho, after day 1,000. i am little leary of ukraine24 because the government is involved. i don't know oneteamonefight but they have a nice website. there are many good orgs, including chmut's comebackalive and prytula's outfit support ua army. yuri, who was w/ the 59th, is setting up shop here, literally. i wud recommend him highly. he wud give good recommendations. i think he's setting up a drone parts manufacturing operation. i'm a big fan of berlinska's victory drones op https://en.victory-drones.com/. the last chronicle i did was from minsk during the 90s, "before the coup" https://bit.ly/2CyTi1o the message then for western leaders was: "do something now because, if you don't, it's gonna spread to russia." (which it eventually did) my youngest daughter *is* in the war https://bit.ly/3VSY1kk w/ reuters, but she's taking a vacation this fall to study journalism in the states
Why are you so down on Z? Please explain what he is doing wrong and what you think he should be doing.
