This is why my eyes glazed over reading the nut graph of an article, titled “Ukraine takes two steps forward, one step back in anti-corruption fight,” appearing in Politico on December 26.
Face the facts. No one in Ukraine, including Z, cares what the Venice Commission thinks about anything, there is no momentum on the institution-building front and the French president’s opinion is irrelevant.
Z’s three-ring circus approach to everything might be funny if one didn’t consider the enormous costs of a system of governmance that remains rotten to its core. As a consequence, traitors roam the streets of Vienna, billions of taxpayers’ dollars are wasted with impunity and the Pork Chop from Obolon remains at large1.
Ukraine’s judges, law enforcers and lawmakers have not only proven themselves incapable of rooting out corruption – they remain, in fact, the architects of the rancid system in place.

In contravention of the Constitution, today most or all of the governing power resides in a centralized government run from the President’s Office. The country is a Gestalt, a unified whole that is more than the sum of its parts.
In psychotherapy, The Empty Chair Technique originating in Gestalt Therapy provides for the client to conduct an emotional dialogue with some aspect of himself or herself or some significant person (e.g., the president), who is imagined to be sitting in an empty chair during the session.
Just ask Olesia Ilaschuk, Ukraine’s new ambassador to Bulgaria. She believes we should focus on the totality of Z’s functioning and relationships in the here and now, rather than dwelling on air-raid alerts and past political screw ups, including Operation Ы, Wagnergate, Chausgate, Semenchenkogate, ad nauseum.
